Art of Ken Hunt

Ken Hunt painted on and off for years until an accident in 1989 forced him to go full time which he eventually achieved in 1991, thanks to the help of Christ Browne and Paul Hunt. Ken focused initially on portraiture and later branched out into copying old masters, to help understand traditional painting techniques to begin with, but kept with it in response to public demand.

He used to only paint for order and not exhibit in art galleries. He has recently begun to exhibit his work and has been overwhelmed with interest and sales of his work. Nearly all of his commissioned work comes from word of mouth. His commissioned portraits range from army officers to cabinet ministers to children. He has done some film and television work, the most significant being four paintings for the Lord of the Rings.

All of Ken's work uses artist quality oils, and done in a purpose built studio attached to the back of his home.
